The price of knowledge is eternal review - Don’t ask. I cannot remember precisely who I stole that from.
I am convinced as Christians as we, from time to time, struggle with the old ennui, it is our soul longing for a more intimate connection with our Savior.
Even the fabulous face we may turn around and see is not really what our new inner-man is longing for.
If we say with the Scriptures:
As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for Thee, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 42:1-2
We will grow to honestly know, not ennui, but:
For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalm 84:10
Better still:
O LORD of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in Thee! Psalm 84:12
