The prayer of Hannah in 1 Samuel 2 is pure worship. As was her vow, she has delivered Samuel to the temple of God, to the care of Eli, the high priest. Her son, a Nazarite, was now in God's hands for rearing, and he was dedicated to the purpose of Almighty God.
Hannah cried out in her barrenness for a son. She trusted the Lord for Samuel; now, she was entrusting his future to the God who opened her womb.
Children in Hannah's time were weaned until about 5 years old, and Hannah had all those years to nurture her son and express her gratitude to God for this gift to all Israel and herself.
Now she prays not a prayer of thanksgiving but of total adoration to the God of gods, the King above all kings, and her heart exalted in His majesty alone.
Today in Prayer 101/Devotional, Hannah exemplifies unreserved devotion and worship.
She delights that God alone is:
Exalted.
Peerless.
Holy.
Our only Rock.
All knowing-All seeing.
Justice
Strong and mighty.
Is to be praised.
Consider her dedication.
"The consideration of these things has long engaged me to attend to this matter, with the utmost diligence and care, and exactness of search and inquiry, that I have been capable of. It is a subject on which my mind has been peculiarly intent, ever since I first entered on the study of divinity. But as to the success of my inquiries it must be left to the judgment of the reader of the following treatise." - Jonathan Edwards.
