The delight in prayer is a two-way delight. Not only do we delight in the presence of God in our prayers, but He takes pleasure in hearing from His children, the redeemed.
We will see this through:
Two personal illustrations of the delight of a father.
One of the Reasons Christ endured the cross.
Our invitation to prayer.
Our standing before God.
God's word on God's perspective on hearing from His children.
Thank You, Jesus. We are in a fallen world. We are faced with our own weaknesses. We have troubles and sorrows, each day has enough of its own, but we are not left with our comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; 4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Prayer and the word of God are our most effective access to the God of all comfort.
