One of the pictures the Bible gives for us is that in battle. If we have not experienced combat, we have all, to some degree or another, experienced it third hand, and we know the stresses of the fight can minimize our confidence, peace, joy. And even hope. However, communion with the Father in daily prayer not only restores the vigor of those affections, it ignites our faith to new heights.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I'll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!"
