JC Ryle describes true and mature Christians as broken by our sins, lovers of God, brought to our knees in gratitude for our redemption, longing to be like Him in holiness, and impatient for eternity with our Savior.
Genuine affection for Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, my beloved brethren, we cannot keep hidden without declaration.
Holy God, my soul does wait for Thee. In the still night in the early morning, I stay in silence for Thee only. Sweet Jesus, Thou art my hope, our hope, our rock, and our salvation.
You are a stronghold; we shall not be shaken because we know Him with whom we have to do.
No glory of our own do we bring to Thee Blessed Redeemer. We rest in Thy glory and Thy mercies.
Thou art the Rock, cut out without hands. Thou give us Thy strength Thou art our refuge under Thy wings.
Help us to pray, listen, and trust in Thee at all times. Please help us to pour out our hearts before Thee.
Thou art indeed our refuge. Teach us to pray. Let none of your children go without access to you and the peace that comes through confession, worship, gratitude, and desiring your w.ill.
We commit this to you all, sweet Jesus, our Savior. We pray in Your name because we know it is your will. Amen.
