October 10, 2022 - Inspired by J.C. Ryle’s treatise on Prayer.
The extended introduction for our October episodes ends at the 7:20 mark, and while there is some benefit (I believe) in listening to it again, if you would like, you can fast forward to that mark and begin the episode.
From here, we get back to our look at “A Call to Prayer,” but before we return, we look at the most emotional call, in my considered opinion, of our relationship with the God of our salvation.
Jesus in tears, cries out:
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 “Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30 “For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
Our rest comes as we seek Him in daily conference with our Savior.
Daily we learn:
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation. Selah.
Psalm 68:19
Thou hast also given me the shield of Thy salvation, And Thy right hand upholds me; And Thy gentleness makes me great.
Psalm 18:35
And so to follow Him to a gentle soul, and carrying other’s burdens:
5 “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5
(Love)…”bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
“What a man is on his knees before God, that he is and nothing more.”
