Jesus Teaches Prayer: Thine is the Kingdom.

Jesus Teaches Prayer: Thine is the Kingdom.

You may have noticed the phrase in Matthew 6:13; [For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.]’, is in brackets. I know you know this, but when we find a New Testament verse or passage in brackets or in some translations included as a footnote, it means said passage is not included in the earlier manuscripts of the New Testament.

In this episode, we explore how we should handle passages in later copies of the original Bible scripts, and we discuss the “Fred Theory” of how this passage may have found its way into the older manuscripts.

However, it got there; there is nothing unBiblical in ending our prayers with a doxology.

"The consideration of these things has long engaged me to attend to this matter, with the utmost diligence and care, and exactness of search and inquiry, that I have been capable of. It is a subject on which my mind has been peculiarly intent, ever since I first entered on the study of divinity. But as to the success of my inquiries it must be left to the judgment of the reader of the following treatise."

Be devoted to God's will, for He is our strength in wearisome times.

Glory to God in the highest!
