Jesus Teaches Prayer - The Lord’s Prayer an Overview

Jesus Teaches Prayer - The Lord’s Prayer an Overview

What has often labeled "The Lord's Prayer" is not a mantra repeated out of rote, but a pattern for the prayers of the saints.

Matthew 6:9-13

"Pray, then, in this way: 'Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. 10 'Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. 11 'Give us this day our daily bread. 12 'And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 'And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from evil. [For Thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

To simply pray these verses our of habit or practice can become the vain and mindless words, Jesus warns us about earlier in Matthew's Gospel.

These five verses of beautifully simplified for those such as me help fill our communion with our Savior and our God with Worship, Confession, Intercession, and thanksgiving.

To God, be the glory.
