8. Protected by God. (Hedge about them)
7. Protected from other pastors. Galatians 2:11 ff (Even in the battle for the truth leaders have conflicts.)
6. Protection from Evil opposition
5. Sincere friendships. Like Timothy, Epaphroditus, and Titus
4. Power in their ministries. Ephesians 6:19-20
3. Peace in the Church. Hebrews 13:17
2. Prayer lives. Philippians 1
1. Protection for their emotional lives. Luke 22:41-46
The only reason to use our spiritual gifts is our calling by God to do so, and ministry leaders should only take those positions if they can do nothing else.
There is not truly enough money, there is not enough support from other Christians, and there is not enough natural power to take on any genuine leadership in the true Church of Christ.
If there were no other reason to develop a prayer life, it is enough to build one to pray for our spiritual leaders.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I'll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!"
