Jesus Teaches Prayer/ October 2020 - Devotional Gratitude for God's Will: Introduction

We emphasized the last episode on God's will, in regards to the spread of the gospel, but there are times critical times when we seem to flounder for His will, what it may be.

Our devotional today centers on the truth that God's will is crystal clear in every significant aspect of our lives. No doubt about that.

I steal… umm… borrow liberally from a study by John MacArthur from a few years ago focusing on the will of God.

That series has been, for me, a transitional lesson from God's word. The will of God is not all that mysterious even though some of the events and circumstances in our lives seem to be, and the very last aspect of the will of God helped in its correct perspective, make day to day decisions more free and precise as well.

Knowing God's will is:

A matrix that helps our lives of faith make sense.

It is an anchor that tethers us to the wisdom and goodness of God.

It is a launching pad from which we can make choices in faith.

It is a release to trust in what God is doing right now as we seek to follow Him.

It is at least all these things for this lowly simple one.

His will in the central questions is also crystal clear.

Salvation

Spirit-filled

Sanctification

Submissive

Suffering

Saying Thanks

and…

As those things are genuine in our lives,

Psalm 37

Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

How great is that!
