We are talking to my grand-babies again, well, not all of them at the same time, about using the word of God to help form our prayers. The practical portion of: "The Foundations of Biblical Prayer" does just that.
I chose a psalm for Lincoln to read and then applied the questions in the journal to the psalm to learn about God and how the word of God very often reflects what we are going through and helps us use what God has revealed to us to form our communion with Holy God.
On Lincoln's little heart for the days she was visiting us with her family was:
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
Galatians 5:22-23
After discussing the psalm, she wanted to use the Galatians 5 passage instead of the psalm. So we did!
Lincoln now applies this passage to glorify the Holy Spirit, take encouragement for her soul, and give a sweet prayer for a friend to know this fruit through knowing Jesus.
Lincoln can be laconic and often laments her Pops using too many words. Lol out loud, but her sincerity in applying this passage touched my heart. What a blessing!
