In 1832 Robert Murray M'Cheyne wrote, Mind quite unfitted for devotion. Prayerless prayer.
We all have those times when God seems distant from us for a variety of reasons, and our minds are unfit for devotion, and our prayers are dry and seem hallow. They are not; the dryer the land, the more our inner man seeks the living waters give by Christ.
Please, do not let dry and weary land keep you from fellowship with our Savior, Jesus, our Father who is in heaven, and the Spirit He has made to dwell in us.
Thank You, Jesus, for our redemption and Your abundant mercies to us.
Be devoted to God's will, for He is our strength in wearisome times.
"The consideration of these things has long engaged me to attend to this matter, with the utmost diligence and care, and exactness of search and inquiry, that I have been capable of. It is a subject on which my mind has been peculiarly intent, ever since I first entered on the study of divinity. But as to the success of my inquiries it must be left to the judgment of the reader of the following treatise." - Jonathan Edwards.
