Biblical doctrine is never truly dry and or irrelevant. The facts of the gospel teamed with God's active work in our lives, and the applications of the will of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit make this life eternally meaningful and exciting.
We are exhorted:
Galatians 6:9-10
9 And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. 10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
We are promised:
Psalm 126:5-6
5 Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. 6 He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
We are convinced by the resurrection of the Lord of glory to live in hope:
1 Corinthians 15:58
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
Be devoted to God's will, for He is our strength in wearisome times.
"The consideration of these things has long engaged me to attend to this matter, with the utmost diligence and care, and exactness of search and inquiry, that I have been capable of. But as to the success of my inquiries it must be left to the judgment of the reader of the following treatise.
