Devotional 52 - Our God of All Comfort

Devotional 52 - Our God of All Comfort

No matter his brothers' motive, Joseph saw God's beauty in working out His divine will, not just selfishly in Joesph's life but also for his enemies... his brothers. At any time, Joseph had the power to take revenge on his family, saving perhaps Benjamin and Jacob. Still, the God of all comfort who comforted him before he was reunited with his father Jacob moved Joseph that he "comforted them and spoke kindly to them” those who had made themselves his enemies." Genesis 50:21

Is it alright if we ponder together what life would be like if we considered our trials as joy, looked not at the sorrows, but forgetting what lies behind pressing on to the abundant life ahead, and truly seeing God's intended good in all things enabling us to willingly forgive our enemies?

The God of all comfort makes this impossible to us task, possible in His comfort and purpose. After all…

John 14:

16 "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you.
