I scoff on the lapel of all who say the Bible is not relevant to our day.
Habakkuk faced times similar to our tumult he saw terrible judgment coming, and God confirmed the news in answer to his prayer, yet he confesses:
Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. 19 The Lord GOD is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, And makes me walk on my high places.
Habakkuk 3:18-19
How was he able to make that confession in the face of such unbelievable times?
I’ll bet he prayed after the fashion of David:
O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me.
2 Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me.
3 O Israel, hope in the LORD From this time forth and forever.
Psalm 131
The peace that passes all understanding comes when we run into the arms of our Savior, crying out, Abba! Father!
