Our minds and hearts soar as we read of "Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets," and we think of how gloriously God worked in and through them to accomplish His will and would love to be numbered with them.
Immediately after, however, we read, "36 and others experienced mockings and scourgings, yes, also chains and imprisonment..."
This group, perhaps not so much.
Bad news: We do not get to choose.
Good news: God has numbered our days and He directs our paths.
Best News: The glorious truth is, both groups obtain the same blessings and accomplish God's will!
Both also share the same eternal destiny!
